Untold Childhood Accident that Left Me Toothless: The Win and Lose of Social Media

 
Sometimes I like to think there is a deeper meaning to some things, but then again…
 
I was swinging with a loose raft (loose because we kept scraping at the stuff (mud) holding it to the wall. We would pull it as far as we could and then release it and let it snap back – hitting the wall.

Do you ever look at some past experiences and laugh? Or wonder, what in the world your brain was processing? Or how differently things would have turned out (for good or worse) at the specific incident.

Genius Child (or Not)

 
The genius me decided to push it (meaning I went around it between the wall and the raft)…. pushed it as far as I could… I don’t know what I thought would happen but let’s just say it snapped right into my mouth knocking two of my front milk teeth out (or in, since the teeth were pushed deep in my mouth)……
 

Ancient Twitter

 
The whole village knew of my accident due to my scream which was majorly triggered by the sight of so much blood rather than the pain. I don’t remember the pain, but I remember the blood, and the looooooong duration I lived without two front teeth….
 
I can imagine how viral such a video would have gone and the comment section on social media; I dread the comments that would have been.
 

The Beating before the Soothing

And yes, I think I got a beating (which I must have forgotten) because the next day, as toothless as I was, I was at something else; parenthood nawaoo… keeping kids who are drawn to danger like moths to an open flame
